Being an employee at the ACE Hotel must be pretty damn gnarly. You get to wear Jeans in 100 degree weather. Ace Hotels have 4 locations: Seattle, WA; New York, Portland, Oregon; and Palm Springs. This collaboration is interesting because they have partnered with the Levi Strauss & Co. for Suite 501, a denim-decorated room for its Palm Springs Ace Hotel & Swim Club.

One of my favorite designers in the game for the last 5 years is Rick Owens. His designs are dark and clean. Just the way I like it. The Rick Owens boutique is in Tokyo’s Aoyama district. As Owens himself mentions, “I am very happy to open a boutique in Tokyo. Japan has a high aesthetic standards of purity was always for me.”

Japanese street-wear label, Neighborhood always finds a way to collaborate with successful brands. I am a firm believer of co-branding especially if a weaker brand co-brands with a stronger brand to garner “their” customers. In this case, both brands are practically strong in their own niche. Both can acquire customers they don’t normally get purchasing their products. Coke Zero is a relatively newer product for Coca Cola. A darker cola makes sense to work with a darker brand. Kudos to them.

This collaboration will produce a specially branded Coke Zero can, tote-bag, t-shirt and USB-stick. ONLY Available at HOODS Hong Kong for now.

Just found out that New York based label ALIFE is doing a line with DICKIES. You know vato wear. This is the thing. I enjoy the fact that brands are dipping into workwear. But it makes sense. You need clothes to wear for work. Problem is. Where is work included when unemployment is now at at staggering 9% median? I wish workwear in streetwear could have introduced maybe in the early 2000′s? Brands such as Levi’s and Red Wings have been doing it strong since the late 1800′s and they are consistently doing their thing in American culture. So I do no hate or like this collaboration. I just wished it was sooner. But I do commend ALIFE for deciding with DICKIES. Now who is going to do one with Ben Davis? Now That’s G.

I understand that Kevin Garnett is sponsored by Adidas but to make a soccer collab with a NBA player? The only reason for this collaboration is because KG is a CFC fan? So you make him a jersey and a limited edition shoe? Someone at Adidas’ marketing department needs the boot. Because do you think Chelsea gives two horseballs about Kevin Garnett? My point exactly.
